Health Cabinet Secretary Hon. Aden Duale today held a high-level bilateral meeting with Africa CDC Director General, Dr. Jean Kaseya, aimed at bolstering collaboration on timely detection and reporting of public health threats in Kenya, the Eastern Africa region, and across the continent.
The meeting emphasized the critical role of coordination in tackling emerging and complex health challenges while unlocking shared opportunities to improve health outcomes. Hon. Duale briefed the Africa CDC leadership on Kenya’s progress in implementing Universal Health Coverage (UHC) under the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA), reaffirming the government’s commitment to regional health security.
Africa CDC, the public health agency of the African Union, works with Member States to strengthen disease preparedness and response capabilities across the continent.
Public Health Principal Secretary Ms. Mary Muthoni also attended the meeting.
