President William Ruto has commenced his four-day development tour of the Nyanza region.
Ahead of his visit to Homa Bay County on Thursday, August 28, Treasury Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi has pulled all the stops to make the visit successful and memorable.
In a show of gratitude, the thoughtful recently appointed Treasury boss, who hails from the county, has erected massive billboards on the roads leading to Homa Bay town, welcoming the president.
The striking billboard captures Mbadi shaking Ruto’s hand. The image was taken during his swearing-in at State House Nairobi.
"H.E William Samoei Ruto, welcome Homa Bay County. Warwaki Dala (we welcome you home)," reads the text on the board.
In the county, the president will commission the Oyugis Water Project, inspect the Homa Bay Fish Market, and launch the Rusinga Ring Road.
Finally, he will attend Mbadi’s thanksgiving service.
Today, the president will tour Migori county, where he is expected to launch the Kegonga Cluster Water Project and Ngere-Mapera Road before inspecting the progress in the Lower Kuja Irrigation Project.
