Incoming Nairobi Governor Irungu Nyakera has called on students to embrace lifelong learning and bold dreaming, urging them to remain curious, daring, and driven in the pursuit of excellence.

Speaking as Chief Guest at Sawa Excellent Educational Centre in Eastleigh, Nyakera echoed the timeless words of Apple co-founder Steve Jobs, telling the learners to “Stay Hungry, Stay Foolish.”

“It’s a call to keep learning, dreaming, and daring; to stay curious and bold enough to take risks in pursuit of growth and purpose,” he said.

Nyakera, known for his deep commitment to education, described learning as the greatest equalizer and the surest path to opportunity, urging parents to continue investing in their children’s education.

“Education opens doors that nothing else can. To the parents, I urge you to keep investing in your children’s education, because it remains the most powerful gift you can give,” he said.

He also encouraged graduates to remain passionate and resilient as they step into the next phase of their lives.

“Stay hungry for knowledge and stay foolish enough to believe in your dreams,” Nyakera told the learners. “When we keep learning and daring, we not only change our own lives but help shape a better future for all.”

The event celebrated the school’s recent academic achievements and recognized students who have excelled in academics, discipline, and innovation.

Nyakera’s message, blending inspiration and pragmatism, reflected his long-standing advocacy for quality education and youth empowerment — values he has championed throughout his public service journey.
