Harambee Stars to face Gabon today at Nyayo Stadium.

Harambee Stars head coach Benni McCarthy has cautioned that Sunday’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Gabon at Nyayo National Stadium will be a tough match.

Speaking during the team’s final preparations at Kasarani on Saturday, McCarthy recognized Gabon’s strength as the second-placed team in Group F, while expressing confidence in his squad’s ability to meet the challenge.

The South African coach also suggested that there might be changes to the starting lineup after Thursday’s exciting 3-3 draw with Gambia.

Harambee Stars are determined to kick off their 2026 World Cup qualification campaign with a win over Gabon today.

Following this, they will host Gambia and Seychelles in September before traveling to Burundi and Ivory Coast in October.

The first leg between the two teams in November 2023 ended in a 2-1 victory for the West Africans.
