President William Ruto today, Wednesday, February 11, inspected the ongoing upgrading of the Garissa Airstrip in Garissa County.

The upgrade and modernisation of the airstrip, deemed an important gateway into Northern Kenya, involves the expansion and upgrade of the runway to accommodate more and larger aircraft.

This, President Ruto noted, will boost passenger traffic to over 200,000 annually and unlock economic opportunities in the region.

The president was impressed by the progress made in the upgrade, saying it is ahead of schedule and within the allocated budget.
