Gambian President Adama Barrow arrived in Kenya last night to attend the 61st Jamhuri Day celebrations today at Uhuru Gardens in Nairobi.
Barrow who is visiting Kenya for the first time will grace the event as the chief guest.
The visit is aimed at strengthening bilateral ties between the two nations in anticipation of the upcoming African Union Commission elections in February.
Barrow was warmly welcomed at the airport by Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi and Mining and Blue Economy Cabinet Secretary Hassan Joho.
“Tomorrow, we are honoured to have President Barrow join us as the Chief Guest for our 61st Jamhuri Day celebrations, a moment that highlights the enduring friendship and cooperation between our countries,” Mudavadi remarked.
This year’s Jamhuri Day celebrations are centered on the theme: Jobs, Labour Migration, Entrepreneurship, and Entertainment.
