The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has dismissed claims that 70 pupils at the Hillside Endarasha Academy are still unaccounted for after the devastating fire.
The claim was started by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua while speaking to the press on Friday, September 5, after the incident.
In a statement, Central Region Criminal Investigations Officer Abraham Mugambi clarified that only 17 pupils had not been traced.
He added that the police, with the help of the school management, located the pupils at their homes after they were picked up by their parents.
Mugambi added that they have made significant progress in investigating the devastating incident that left 21 pupils dead.
