Former NTV journalist Smriti Vidyarthi has taken on a new role months after her departure from the Nation Media Group.

She has joined The Nature Conservancy (TNC), a leading global environmental organization, as Executive Communications Officer for Africa.

Announcing the move, Smriti shared her enthusiasm for the new chapter:

“I’m turning the mic and lens to nature. I’m excited to announce that I’ve joined The Nature Conservancy (TNC), a global conservation organization whose mission is to conserve the lands and waters on which all life depends.”

She added, “TNC offers a powerful platform for change, and as TNC’s executive communications officer for Africa, I can’t wait to tell our stories as we conserve our precious landscapes and oceans for people and nature.”

The Nature Conservancy, headquartered in Arlington, Virginia, operates in 79 countries, working to protect ecologically important lands and waters worldwide.

Smriti exits the Nation Media Group after more than 16 years of service, during which she became a familiar face to Kenyan audiences.

She hosted several flagship programs on NTV, including NTV Weekend Edition, NTV Tonight, and NTV Wild Talk.

Marking her departure, she wrote: “Sixteen-and-a-half years of service to the Nation Media Group and to the nation at large. Thank you for trusting me. For now, tune in tonight at 9pm for my last bulletin on NTV.”
