Gospel singer Evelyn Wanjiru recently returned to Nakuru County to visit a special place—the church where she first met her husband, Agunda Bweni. The visit was part of a celebration marking 13 years of marriage.

Their wedding anniversary, which they marked a few days ago, was filled with love and reflection. In a heartfelt message, Evelyn’s husband wrote:

“Happy Wedding Anniversary to us! Today, we celebrate 13 years of God’s love, faithfulness, and grace. Through all the ups and downs, we’ve stayed strong, building a beautiful life together. May our love continue to shine and inspire.”

In a new video shared on her YouTube channel, Evelyn gave fans a glimpse into their early days. She took them to Nakuru Christian Centre, Kenya Assemblies of God—the church where it all began.

“This is where it all started,” she said, her voice full of emotion. “I haven’t been here since 2009 or 2010.”

Evelyn recalled how she first noticed Agunda in the crowd while she was singing in the choir. Hoping to impress him, she gave her best during the performance. But to her surprise, he didn’t pay much attention.

“I was so annoyed,” she laughed. “I thought he was ignoring me.”

Later, Agunda admitted that he had noticed her—he was just playing it cool.

Now, 13 years later, that playful start has grown into a strong marriage full of faith and love. Evelyn described their story as a “beautiful journey” and thanked God for every step.

Their visit to the church was more than a trip down memory lane—it was a reminder that love rooted in faith can last a lifetime.
