Comedian, media personality and motivational speaker Dr Ofweneke has shared a blunt and humorous message about side chics facing emotional neglect during festivities.

In a post that quickly gained traction, Dr Ofweneke candidly addressed the often unspoken struggles faced by women in side relationships. According to him, being a “side chick” is far from glamorous, especially when both attention and finances dry up.

“Tuombee maside chicks sana juu hajakuwa rahisi wanalia sana,” he wrote, before humorously adding that many were denied attention by their sponsors throughout December, only to be cut off financially for the entire month of January.

In the full post, Dr Ofweneke joked:

“Tuombee maside chicks sana juu hajakuwa rahisi wanalia sana!
Kunyimwa attention na sponyo December mzima then kunyimwa pesa January mzima!
It’s not easy being a side chick, please wakumvuke kwa maombi, they are not breathing well!
Tuwakumbuke kwa maombi.”

Social media users who found it both hilarious and painfully relatable. Many netizens flooded the comments section agreeing with his observations, while others debated the realities of modern relationships, emotional availability, and personal choices.

Dr Ofweneke went on to urge people, tongue firmly in cheek, to “pray” for those caught in such situations, joking that many were “not breathing well” due to the emotional strain.
