Deputy Auditor General Fredrick Oluoch Odhiambo Dies After Short Illness

CPA Fredrick Oluoch Odhiambo, the Deputy Auditor General in charge of Finance and Administration Services, is dead. Odhiambo passed away on Thursday, October 2, 2025, after a short illness.

His death was confirmed in an internal message from the Auditor-General, who described the news as a sudden and tremendous loss both to his family and to the Office of the Auditor-General (OAG).

“DAG Fredrick has been a focused leader who has made great contributions to the Office of the Auditor-General, the Nation and the global public sector auditing community,” the statement read.

The Office says further details will be communicated in due course, as consultations with the family are still ongoing.

In the meantime, staff and the public are being asked to keep his family, friends, and loved ones in their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
