The National Assembly’s Committee on Appointments, chaired by Speaker Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Moses Wetang’ula, is currently vetting the 13th Cabinet Secretary nominee, Rebecca Miano, for the Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife.
This marks the third day of the rigorous vetting exercise.

Ms. Miano, who previously appeared before the Committee two years ago for a different ministry, is an advocate of the High Court and holds a Master’s degree in Law from the University of Salford, Manchester, United Kingdom.
As the vetting process continues, the Committee is expected to delve into Ms. Miano’s plans for tackling challenges in the tourism and wildlife sectors, including poaching, human-wildlife conflicts, and the impact of climate change on wildlife habitats.
Ms. Miano’s extensive legal background and previous experience in public service are anticipated to play a significant role in her potential appointment, bringing a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife.
