Central Police Station Officer Commanding Station (OCS) Samson Talaam has been arrested in Eldoret in connection with the murder of Albert Ojwang.
According to police sources, Talaam was reportedly on the run and has since been handed over to the Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) for interrogation.
His arrest follows a statement by Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) chief Mohammed Amin, who named Talaam as a prime suspect in Ojwang’s controversial death while in police custody.
Ojwang’s case has triggered national outrage and renewed calls for police accountability. Investigations are ongoing.
