The Ruiru Sports club’s hosting of the Kenya Ladies Golf Union (KLGU) Golfer of the Year event for the first time makes this weekend’s edition of KLGU GOTY historic.
This is an important milestone not just for the club but also for the developing women’s golf in the country.
Over 200 lady golfers from all over Kenya are expected to take part this weekend , and so Ruiru will once again become the epicenter of women’s golf in Kenya, at least for one weekend.
Earlier in the year, the club completed a successful hosting of KLGU Ladies 54-Hole Tournament which greatly elevated their standing within the golfing community. Now, securing a spot as host for KLGU GOTY only confirms their position on the map.
“This is a proud moment for us,” said Lady Captain Rodah Mukami. “We are in the very best shape as a team and as a course, so we are ready to receive golfers from every corner of this country. It goes beyond competition; it is a festivity for women, for milestones, and for the sport.”
With systematic preparation by Ruiru’s greenkeeping staff, the firm fairways and quick greens will offer some challenge to even the most experienced players.
Having seasoned marksmen sharpen their skills on this unique layout would be essential as it requires aggressive play while demanding careful strategy and precision at every turn.
As the count down begins and excitement building, all eyes are on Ruiru sports club for a promising landmark event in the Kenyan golf calendar.
