Two Suspects Arrested Over Murder, Stabbing Incidents in Kibra

Detectives have arrested two suspects in connection with a murder and a separate stabbing incident reported in Lindi, Kibra, Nairobi, on October 23, 2026.

The two attacks happened on the same morning as the victims were heading to work. One man died after being stabbed during a robbery, while another was seriously injured in a separate attack.

In the first incident, 49-year-old Jacob Odhiambo Alube was attacked by thugs who robbed him of his belongings, including his mobile phone.

According to investigators, the attackers stabbed him in the chest and left thigh after he attempted to resist the robbery. They then fled, leaving him dead at the scene.

Police officers who arrived at the scene found his body lying in a pool of blood. Bloodstains several metres away suggested that a struggle had taken place.

Crime Scene Investigation officers examined the scene before the body was taken to Nairobi Funeral Home for a post-mortem examination.

In a separate attack reported the same morning, 58-year-old Juma Jared was stabbed several times by two assailants.

He suffered injuries to his upper left arm, the left side of his chest and his lower back. Members of the public rushed him to Mbagathi Hospital before he was referred to Kenyatta National Hospital for further treatment.

Jared was reported to be in fair and stable condition. Unlike the first incident, nothing was stolen from him.

Following the attacks, detectives began investigations to establish what happened and identify those responsible.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations said an intelligence-led operation in the Kingstone area of Lindi led to the arrest of two suspects, identified as Abdizar Suleiman and Stephen Litari Hussein.

The two are being held by police as detectives process the case ahead of their arraignment in court.
