The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has enlisted 200 boda boda riders in a campaign aimed at combating child sex trafficking and improving the reporting of suspected cases.
The riders from Zimmerman and Mirema wards in Roysambu Sub-County were engaged by the DCI’s Anti-Human Trafficking and Child Protection Unit in partnership with MARICI-Kenya during a sensitisation and risk amplification campaign.
The initiative sought to raise awareness among riders about the risks and devastating consequences of child sex trafficking while highlighting their potential role in identifying and reporting cases.
The riders were urged to act as โeyes and ears on the groundโ and become ambassadors in efforts to protect children and help law enforcement agencies track down trafficking suspects.

The DCI said riders should promptly report suspected cases to the police or through the Fichua kwa DCI anonymous and toll-free hotline 0800 722 203.
They can also report suspected trafficking cases through the DCI’s WhatsApp number 0759 570 000.
As part of the campaign, the 200 boda boda riders were issued with branded reflector jackets carrying messages against child sex trafficking.
The jackets also display the Fichua kwa DCI reporting number, providing riders and members of the public with an accessible channel for reporting cases involving children who may be at risk.

The DCI said the initiative is aimed at increasing vigilance within communities and strengthening the flow of information to law enforcement agencies.
The agency reaffirmed its commitment to protecting children, disrupting child sex trafficking networks and bringing those involved in the crime to justice.
