Kenyan comedian and media personality Jasper Muthomi, popularly known as MC Jessy, has spoken out about relationships, arguing women to build themselves before settling down with a man.
Speaking on a podcast, MC Jessy said women should establish themselves financially instead of relying on the idea of growing together with a partner.
“Ladies, stop this nonsense of growing with a man. Because if you grow with them, they’ll grow and leave you behind. And if you grow together, he’ll go find another lady to help her grow,” MC Jessy said.
He encouraged ladies to think about their future and invest before getting into relationship that may bring them down if not ready.
He also encouraged young men to build themselves financially and organize, as a man should make his own money before getting into relationships.
“Let’s look at it economically. Eh, huyu jamaa akona mshahara yake hapa. Wife maybe ako na mshahara yake mahali yako, sindio? Ndio mtataka mcombine mgrow pamoja. Ni sawa, si mbaya. Mi sijasema ni mbaya,” he said.
His concern is to encourage the young people to build themselves, but to invest first individually before entering into a relationship.
