Police in Ruai, Nairobi, have arrested three people after seizing 187 kilogrammes of cannabis sativa with an estimated street value of Sh5.6 million.
The drugs were recovered by officers from Obama Police Station during a routine foot patrol within the area.
According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), officers stopped two 17-year-old Ugandan nationals and searched them, leading to the discovery of cannabis sativa.
The two were then questioned and led the officers to a house in Ruai.
Police searched the house and recovered the larger consignment of bhang.
A 33-year-old woman, identified as Susan Omondi, was also arrested at the house.
The three were taken into custody as they await to be arraigned in court, while the seized drugs were kept as exhibits.
The DCI said the operation was part of ongoing efforts to disrupt the movement and supply of illegal drugs.
