Kenyan businessman Morara Kebaso and his wife, Mercy Makini, have found themselves at the center of public scrutiny after rumors about their marriage surfaced online.
In a statement shared online, Mercy has broken her silence on the state of their marriage, revealing that she walked away from the relationship six months ago. Her remarks come amid claims circulating online that Morara left his wife and children for another woman.
“For the past six months, I have chosen to be the bigger person and keep this matter private out of respect for everyone involved. However, since you have decided to bring it to social media and put it in my face, then let’s address it openly,” Mercy said in a statement.

The drama began when Morara shared online that he wants to discuss about his family and previous experiences, which he described as a mob mentality, where someone stays silent, someone will speak out.
Morara emphasized that every family has its own way of doing things and urged the public to respect his wife as the mother of their three children. He asked not to pressure him, as their values are not his values and he shouldn’t be positioned to where he has to go social media to correct misinformation.

“I have the permission and blessing of my family to serve the nation as a leader who can make a difference. Allow me to be laser focused on that,” Morara wrote.
However, Mercy emphasized that he disrespected her by thinking that he could keep their separation private and that he hasn’t been present.
“You’ve disrespected me in private; I thought you would just keep the disrespect private! The disclosure added fresh fuel to what had already been a widely discussed situation online,” Mercy wrote.
