The National Police Service (NPS) has already started to put into action the recommendations of a systems review report which was handed over to the NPS by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) as the next step to the reform within the Service.
Authoritive report that examined systems, policies and procedures within the police service will presumably be used to steer initiatives to maintain, pump and improve accountability professionalism integrity.
To implement recommendations, an implementation matrix has been established to direct this process of implementation.
This matrix will not only be used to direct the implementation process but also utilized by the NPS to manage implementation. The matrix including the findings, performance indicators, monitoring system and stakeholders in the process.
Douglas Kanja, the Inspector General of Police, on Wednesday afternoon briefed in detail on the state of progress after detailed analysis of schedules of implementation, estimated costs in monetary terms, logistics and possible hurdles likely to be encountered during the actual implementation phase.

” Reforms are vital to improved efficiency, services delivery and restoring people’s confidence in policing at large.
The Inspector General of Police again stressed that the National Police Service was committed to the full implementation of the recommendations and values this process as achievement towards strengthening institutional accountability and professionalism in policing.
