President William Ruto has reassured the nation that Kenya will continue to advance on a broader scale of economic and diplomatic relations with Mauritius when he had bilateral talks with PM Navinchandra Ramgoolam at State House Nairobi. Apart from trade, the two countries also agreed to strengthen co-operation further on regional security in Indian Ocean region through various issues such as combating terrorism, piracy, drugs and other trans-national crimes that will impact on regional stability and economies.
“We also collaborate on regional maritime security in the Indian Ocean, including fighting against piracy and trafficking.” he said
Air linkages were emphasized as one of the significant pillars of the burgeoning bilateral ties.
Services operated by Kenya Airways between Nairobi and Mauritius are expected to enhance tourism, trade and other exchanges. Kenya said it had strengthened the strategic partnership with Mauritius to deepen regional cooperation and open new economic opportunities.
