Kenya and Uganda have renewed efforts to strengthen regional cooperation and unlock economic opportunities in the Blue Economy, fisheries and mining sectors.
According to Betsy Njagi,the Principal Secretary in the State Department for the Blue Economy and Fisheries under the Ministry of Mining, Blue Economy and Maritime Affairs said the discussions took place on the sidelines of the Africa Forward Summit in Nairobi during engagements involving Cabinet Secretary Hassan Ali Joho and Uganda’s Foreign Affairs Minister Jeje Odongo.
“Our discussions centered on translating existing bilateral agreements into tangible opportunities within the Blue Economy, fisheries, and mining sectors,’she said.

She said the talks focused on translating existing bilateral agreements into practical economic opportunities for citizens of both countries.

The leaders discussed collaboration in the Blue Economy, fisheries and mining sectors as part of efforts aimed at boosting trade, sustainable growth and regional economic integration.
