Four suspects from Salgaa in rongai Sub-county face murder charges tied to the killing of an old couple and a woman. The court heard evidence linking Richard Wanjala, Michael Kipsang, Elly Njuguna, and collins Wekesa to the deaths of margaret Wambui Mwangi on November 2, 2025.

Appearing before the court, all rejected the allegations. Still, prosecutors argued that releasing any of them might endanger ongoing investigations, Collins Wekesa remains unlocated.

On November 7, 2025, Joseph Kihiti and his wife Bethrosa Wanjiku were found dead in bahati; police said Paul Ndung’u alias Jango was responsible for slashing Mary Mburu Wanjiku in nyadhuna village. A similar crime scene pattern shows up across both cases.

The bail request failed after judges observed how easily suspects could flee or contact witnesses once freed. For better or worse, this is the latest wave of violent incidents gripping central Kenya’s urban outskirts.

Even though details remain fragmented, several people connected to those killings continue to move through the system without clear accountability. Authorities aren’t ruling out more cases coming forward soon.

The court refused to give them bail, pointing out the prosecution’s worries that the fourth suspect is still at large and releasing the accused might make it possible for him to tamper with investigations and witnesses.

Accordung to prosecutor he slit her throat with a sword. He pleaded not guilty by Justice Patricia Gichohi, who set his release on a bond of KSh5 million or a cash bail alternative of KSh2 million.

On the other hand, a person by the name of Evans Abuti has been charged with murdering his wife, beheading her and then escaping with both the head and their daughter. He has denied the charges and was put in jail, awaiting his trial scheduled for April 30, 2026.
