American Track And Field Athlete Thomas Gabby

200M Olympic champion Gabby Thomas trains at the Ulinzi Complex ahead of tomorrow’s 7th Kip Keino Classic continental tour at Nyayo Stadium.

Thomas, who stunned the world with her sprint at the Olympic winning gold medal, is now set for Kenya’s athletics meet. Her presence in Kenya has shocked many especially in the local athletics scene, with fans eager to witness her speed in Kenya.

This season she chose to start with her outdoor season in Africa, racing in Addis Ababa, Nairobi and Gaborone. In Kenya, she will enter for the double sprint: 100m and 200m just as she did in Ethiopia last weekend and won.

The World Athletics Continental Tour Series chose the Kip Keino Classic to be part of it, as it has grown into one of the Africa’s most prestigious track and field events

Tomorrow the Kip Keino Classic will feature, Ferdinand Omanyala 100m gold medal winner, aiming to conquer his 9.98 seconds from last weekend’s Addis Ababa Grand Prix.

Emmanuel Wanyonyi, Olympic champion in the 800m, will run for the race in the 1500m

Thomas training at the Ulinzi Complex looked sharp and focused, aiming to win the 200m at Nyayo stadium, as her participation in the Kip Keino Classic will raise her global profile, attracting Olympic and World champions to Nairobi.
