Manchester City beat Arsenal premier league

Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City edged past Arsenal 2-1 on Sunday, tightening the race at the top of the Premier League.

Arsenal fell behind in the first half after Rayan Cherki found the net to give City an early advantage. City looked in control for large spells, but the momentum shifted following a costly mistake from goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Kai Havertz reacted quickly to the error, capitalising to draw Arsenal level before the break and bring the away side back into contention.

The second half turned into a tightly contested affair, with both teams pushing for a decisive goal. It was Erling Haaland who ultimately made the difference, striking the winner to seal all three points for City in front of their home crowd.

The victory moves Manchester City within three points of the league leaders, putting them firmly back into the title conversation. Pep Guardiola’s side now has a chance to go top of the table if they secure a win against Burnley in their next fixture on Wednesday.
