Githunguri Member of Parliament Gathoni Wamuchomba has urged the opposition to shift its focus from political attacks to constructive economic agendas, particularly in agriculture.
In a strongly worded statement, Wamuchomba said the government has already delivered on key promises in sectors such as coffee, leather, and sugar, crediting President William Ruto for reforms she claims have improved performance in the industries following the exit of entrenched cartels.
“Dear Opposition, William Ruto has delivered his promise in coffee, leather and sugar after the cartel master exited the scene,” she said.
She challenged opposition leaders to present clear policy alternatives, particularly in value chains such as macadamia, cashew nuts, potatoes, and avocados, arguing that farmers need practical solutions rather than political rhetoric.
“Stop talking bubbles, give us your agenda on macadamia, cashew nuts, potatoes and avocados,” she added.
Wamuchomba further emphasized the need for unity and constructive debate, saying Kenyans are tired of insults and negativity in political discourse.
“Tunachoka na matusi. We only want hope for better returns,” she said, calling for renewed focus on improving farmers’ incomes and strengthening agricultural markets.
