Hundreds of Kenyans flocked to Nairobi National Park on Sunday to celebrate Easter Holiday. It was a great way to combine the experience of wildlife with peaceful environment since the park is located just outside capital city centre which is very busy.
According to the park officials, the number of visitors during Easter holiday has been quite high compared to previous celebrations of the same time. Assistant Warden II and Tourism Warden Gladys Gaturia said the visitor numbers went up because now the visitor experiences have been improved and new prices attract more people here.
Besides animals, visitors also got chance to see the latest attractions of animal orphanage, among which are two four-year-old female lions that is Elema 1 and Elema 2. These lions caused both young and old a lot of excitement and admiration.
In order to increase visitors’ stay and also to let them discover different parts of the park which are very deep, park managers came up with the idea of providing transport services which are both that cheap and comfortable.
These bus services will also be running during Easter period including Easter Monday.
Moreover, visitors enjoyed improved facilities such as modern toilets that were put in the park in a very strategic manner so that they can be easily accessed.
Park officials however reminded that despite the celebrations, it is very essential to respect the conservation rules to save delicate ecosystem.
