KIMC, Kabarak University Partner to Help Diploma Graduates Upgrade to Degree Level

The Kenya Institute of Mass Communication (KIMC) has signed a new partnership deal with Kabarak University. This partnership will help diploma students advance their studies and upgrade to degree level.

The new partnership deal was signed on Wednesday at Kabarak University in Nakuru County. This saw top officials from both institutions meet.

Some of the officials who attended the meeting included the KIMC Chairman Silas Jonyo Otieno, Council Training Chair Esther Kagiri, and the Chief Executive Officer Peter Wakoli. They were received by the Vice-Chancellor of Kabarak University, Henry Kiplangat.

The partnership deal will see diploma students from the Kenya Institute of Mass Communication advance to degree level at Kabarak University. This will be done within a short time.

This partnership deal will help many students, especially those who have already graduated but are still interested in advancing their studies.

The partnership deal was necessitated by the need to help the institute’s alumni advance their studies. This was revealed by the Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Wakoli.

“This MOU is a direct response to our alumni who have long desired to elevate their academic portfolios but were hindered by demanding professional schedules,” he said during the signing.

The partnership will not be limited to the classroom environment. Students and lecturers are also set to collaborate in the production of films and other media content.

The partnership has also outlined plans for research collaboration and staff exchange.

KIMC has over the years trained many media experts, especially in the field of filmmaking and content creation. Kabarak University, on the other hand, offers a wide range of degree courses.

The partnership is also set to make it easier for diploma graduates to upgrade their knowledge and acquire more skills in the field of media.
