The tourism sector in the country is set to receive a huge boost thanks to the 2026 Safari Rally. The World Rally Championship (WRC) even is set to light up Naivasha with the official action starting on Thursday, March 12.

Drivers have already done their reconnaissance of the 20 stages ahead of the shakedown in Nawisa and the official flag-off on Thursday.

While the dust rises in Naivasha, the tourism sector is set to benefit from the massive influx of fans expected in the town and its environs. Capital Sport reports that at least 10,000 regional fans are expected in Naivasha.

“Our East African neighbours represent a vital and high-potential source market for Kenya. By integrating events like the Safari Rally with diverse attractions such as Mombasa, we are creating compelling travel itineraries that cater to a broader range of interests,” said Kenya Tourism Board CEO, June Chepkemei.

Rally drivers have also taken time to explore the country’s diverse tourism destinations before the action begins. Toyota Gazoo driver Oliver Solberg shared exquisite photos of him enjoying wildlife on his social media.
