NEMA Enforcement officers on Thursday conducted an environmental inspection at the British American Tobacco (BAT).
The enforcement happened at company factory located along Lunga Lunga Road in Industrial Area, Nairobi.
NEMA in a statement they shared on their social media said the exercise was aimed at assessing the company’s compliance with Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR).
“The Authority issued an order against BAT and directed its management to report to NEMA offices on Friday, 6th March 2026, to address the compliance issues and respond to the enforcement action,”statement read .
