Meru County Governor Mutuma M’Ethingia has this morning hosted the Cabinet Secretary for Energy and Petroleum, James Opiyo Wandayi, at his office to discuss and fast track ongoing process on expanding the last-mile connectivity in the County.
The Governor and the Cabinet Secretary discussed implementation of the drive to connect more households across Meru to the National grid.
Through collaboration and partnership between the County Government of Meru under the leadership of Governor Mutuma and the National Government led by the President, William Samoei Ruto, Sh2.4 billion has been allocated to Meru County under the energy sector, to ensure more homes, schools, and businesses are connected to power in the ongoing connectivity program.
CS Wandayi was accompanied by the Principal Secretary, State Department for Energy Alex Kamau Wachira, CBS, among other top Ministry officials.
