The Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) has announced an operation to track and recapture two lionesses that escaped from Nairobi National Park.
In a statement, KWS said the animals were sighted in the Sholinke trading area of Kajiado East Constituency, Kajiado County, about 8.3 kilometres from the park.
“Latest coordinates: 37 M 261961 UTM 9834651. KWS teams are actively managing the situation,” the agency said.
KWS rangers and veterinary teams have been deployed to safely recapture and relocate the lionesses. The agency emphasized that the operation is ongoing, with public safety as the top priority.
