President William Ruto and his Deputy Rigathi Gachagua have been urged to sit together and address their differences for Kenyans to realize economic growth.
Two ODM MPs from Nyanza region want the President and his Deputy to put their house in order.
Suba South MP Caroli Omondi and his Gem counterpart Elisha Odhiambo argued that the ongoing wrangles between Ruto and Gachagua are unhelpful for the country.
Omondi said Kenya needs peace and requires political stability it to realize its full economic recovery.
He argued that the economic recovery can only be achieved through peaceful co-existence among the leaders.
“Many Kenyans want a conducive environment for business to thrive because they need development. The country cannot grow economically if its leaders engage in endless squabbles,” Omondi said.
Speaking on Sunday during a gospel music competition at Homa Bay Central SDA Church in Homa Bay Town constituency, the two MPs said they want a country which is stable.
The Suba South legislator said the wrangles between Ruto and Gachagua to stop uttering statements which injure reputation.
He said they will work towards achieving the political solution.
“The wrangles require political solution. They should stop the wrangles and instead look fora political solution that will benefit majority of Kenyans,” he said.
Odhiambo challenged Gachagua to stop statements which injure President Ruto’s reputation in his functions.
The leaders hold their offices on behalf of Kenyan.
He accused Gachagua and his allies of developing a habit of throwing tantrums to the President during their functions.
“I challenge DP Gachagua to stop his troops from attacking the President in his functions if they are truly supporting the peace in the country. Let him control his allies,” Odhiambo said.
Some MPs in Gachagua’s camp have been accused of making inflammatory statements which can polarise communities in the the country.
The leaders said they will all benefit from a peaceful country.
