Bandari FC has made a swift managerial change just two games into the 2025/26 Football Kenya Federation Premier League season, parting ways with head coach Ken Odhiambo following a winless start.
The club announced on Tuesday that assistant coach John Baraza has been promoted to interim head coach as the team seeks to steady its campaign.
“Bandari Football Club has, with immediate effect, appointed Mr. John Baraza as the interim head coach,” read an official statement from the club’s CEO, Tony Kibwana. “Mr. Baraza has been serving as assistant coach and will take charge of the team until a permanent replacement is named.”
The statement also expressed gratitude to Odhiambo for his service: “Bandari FC appreciates the former head coach, Ken Odhiambo, for his contribution to the team and wishes him well in his future endeavours.”
Odhiambo, who rejoined Bandari on July 22, 2024, leaves the club sitting 13th on the league table with just one point from two matches.
Bandari opened their season with a goalless draw against Kariobangi Sharks before suffering a narrow 1-0 home defeat to current league leaders Shabana FC at the Mbaraki Stadium.
Baraza will now be tasked with reviving the team’s fortunes as they prepare for the third round of fixtures.
