Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has warned former military and police officers against involvement in unlawful activities that may result in insecurity and fear amongst Kenyans for political reasons.

This follows the arrest and arraignment of an ex-Kenya Defence Forces officer and two former police officers for donning military gear, displaying arms in public and being members of an alleged illegal outfit dubbed Fighting Brutality and Impunity, FBI.

The Cabinet Secretary spoke in Nanyuki, Laikipia County during the Jukwaa La Usalama Security tour where he emphasized that former members of the disciplined forces bear a higher responsibility to maintain and observe law and order.

He said banditry is the main security challenge in Laikipia County, especially at the areas bordering Samburu East.The Cabinet Secretary also using the platform to caution former Military and National Police Service Officers against illegal acts.

This coming after a former Kenya Defence Forces officer Patrick Osoi and an ex-police officer and influencer popularly known as Cop Shakur were arrested for allegedly dealing in acts that may jeopardize public order and national security.

The said former members of disciplined services are allegedly members of a movement considered illegal, dubbed Fighting Brutality and Impunity.
