President William Ruto has expressed satisfaction with the ongoing renovations at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani, affirming Kenya’s readiness to host the 2024 TotalEnergies African Nations Championship (CHAN) scheduled for next month.
Speaking after inspecting the refurbished stadium, President Ruto lauded the pace and quality of work, describing the upgrades as a significant step in cementing Kenya’s place as a premier sporting destination in Africa.
“I am contented with the progress made in the renovation of the Moi International Sports Centre. The facilities meet international standards, and we are now fully prepared to host CHAN 2024,” he said.
The President also took time to visit the Harambee Stars during their training session at the venue, encouraging the team to take advantage of the home-ground advantage and make the country proud.
The revamped stadium features a modernized pitch, improved seating capacity, upgraded locker rooms, media areas, and enhanced lighting, all in compliance with CAF standards.
