Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on Thursday praised the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) for its relentless efforts in combating the sale, distribution, and consumption of illicit drugs in Kenya.
Speaking during the official opening of the Mombasa International Show at the National Police Service stand, Gachagua reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting the DCI in sustaining the fight against drug-related crimes.
“We commend the DCI, led by Director Mohamed I. Amin, for the tangible milestones achieved in the war on drugs, particularly within the Coastal region. The government stands fully behind you as you continue with this important work,” the Deputy President stated.

Gachagua emphasized the need for unwavering efforts to ensure a drug-free society, encouraging the DCI to maintain its focus on eradicating the drug menace.
He lauded the progress made so far and called for sustained vigilance in protecting communities from the devastating effects of illicit substances.
