Tension is high at Maikona High School in North Horr, Marsabit County, after 36 students were reportedly nursing serious injuries after they were allegedly ruthlessly beaten by their teachers.
According to parents of the affected learners, were assaulted for failing to celebrate the they emerged victorious in a music competition.
Parents are demanding for the immediate sacking of several teachers at the school for allegedly assaulting and causing the students grievous bodily harm.
The agitated parents held a demonstration to the school to protest the incident claiming that 36 students were injured including in private part after being brutalized by the teachers.
Addressing the issue, Marsabit county Teachers Service Commission boss Ali Hussein Abdi vowed to ensure that appropriate action will be taken against all teachers who were involved in the severe punishment of the students.
