Deputy President Kithure Kindiki

The acting Interior Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has declared Friday, November 1, a public holiday.

This is due to the scheduled swearing-in of Kithure Kindiki as Deputy President taking over from Rigathi Gachagua who was impeached.

Kindiki’s swearing-in will be held at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) in Nairobi from 10am.

The swearing-in announcement comes hours after the High Court lifted conservatory orders that had blocked Kindiki from assuming the Office of the Deputy President.
