Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has reaffirmed Kenya’s strong ties with China following a meeting with Chinese Ambassador Guo Haiyan.
The envoy paid a courtesy call to Murkomen, where the two leaders discussed ways of deepening cooperation, particularly in security-related areas.
“Kenya and China enjoy a cordial relationship founded on mutual respect and strong people-to-people ties,”Murkomen said in a statement.
Key among the issues raised were enhanced training, joint efforts in tackling transnational crime, and improved immigration management systems.
Murkomen noted that Kenya and China continue to enjoy cordial relations built on mutual respect and strong people-to-people connections, adding that closer collaboration will help address emerging security challenges.
The meeting signals ongoing efforts by the government to strengthen international partnerships in safeguarding the country’s borders and internal security.
