British heavyweight boxing champion Tyson Fury claims he is looking for a new opponent for his November bout.
Fury called out Oleksandr Usyk despite contracted to fight Anthony Joshua with both individual signed individual contracts for the contest.
The location of the fight is still to be confirmed by the organizers, who are pushing to stage it in the US rather and Wembley Stadium, UK, where Joshua preferred.
Sharing a video on Instagram, Fury claimed Joshua was backing out of the fight.
“This will only lead me to a fight with Oleksandr Usyk. Oleksandr you’re his (Joshua’s) trainer and his sensei and you know he is weak minded… and he would never fight the Gypsy King which have had the guts to do twice,” Fury said.
You got the decision last time, fair play to you. Good luck to you, let’s do it again. Let’s run it back in November,” he added.
Fury has twice lost to Usyk, a two-time undisputed heavyweight champion. Usyk, merging titles in 2021 and 2022 after defeating Joshua. He is widely regarded as one of the most technically gifted heavyweights of his era.
Saudi Arabian promoter Sela, the Saudi state -owned promotional company, is said to finance the fight and broadcaster Netflix is set to favor staging the bout.
