Two Suspects Arrested as Police Recover Stolen Infrastructure in Makueni

Police officers have arrested two suspects and recovered a range of stolen items believed to have been obtained through vandalism in Makindu Sub-County, Makueni County.

The suspects were apprehended during an operation after members of the public reported the vandalism of water infrastructure in a residential area. Based on the report, the officers quickly responded and arrested one suspect who was found with water, related equipment which the police suspect to have been stolen.

Further investigation led them to the suspects’ business premises where a search was carried out. This resulted in the discovery of more stolen property. 

The items recovered include water meters, water pipes, railway metal components, electrical infrastructure materials, fuel, and various consumer goods that are believed to be the proceeds of crime.

The two suspects were taken to police custody and will be charged in court while the investigations are ongoing.
