Three men, Shukri Aden, Abdallah Omar Athumani alias Babu, and Salim Chege alias Rasta, were arraigned before a Mombasa court on charges of sodomizing a 15-year-old boy in Ganjoni, Mombasa County.
The alleged offences occurred on various offences between August 15 and August 25, 2025.Appearing before Resident Magistrate Green Odera, the accused faced charges of defilement and committing an indecent act with a minor, in violation of the Sexual Offences Act.
All three denied the allegations. The prosecution, led by Counsel Purity Musembi, opposed their release on bond, citing community anger and potential risks to the accused if released.
Magistrate Odera ordered the case to be mentioned on September 9, 2025, for further directions, with the accused to remain in custody pending a decision on bond terms.
The prosecution noted that investigations are ongoing, and additional evidence will be presented at the next hearing.
