President William Ruto has reaffirmed Kenya’s readiness to attract global investment, positioning the country as a leading gateway to Africa and international markets.
Addressing the 2026 AmCham Business Summit in Nairobi, Ruto stated that Kenya is a strategic base that allows investors including more than 300 million in the East African Community, (EAC), COMESA region, more than 700 million people in COMESA region and the 1. 4 billion consumer Africa-wide through AFCTA.
The head of state said that the government’s investment strategy centers on creating the right conditions for businesses to produce, introduce new products and serve their African and global customers from Kenya.
“Our proposition is clear: Produce here, innovate here and serve Africa and the world from Kenya” said Ruto
Under president William Ruto’s administration, the government has rolled out over 50 measures to promote business in the past three years. These measures are in the form of business regulations changes, taxation, finance and special economic zones.
The president believes that the changes will make it easy for investors, and give them more protection against loss or risk. Also, the reforms have helped to make it easier and to attract investment while promoting investment in the areas of electric vehicles manufacturing renewable energy, and agricultural transformation.
He outlined the main areas that investors should consider for investment as digital infrastructure, critical minerals, renewable energy agriculture healthcare, and creative industry.
Ruto also encouraged further investment in agro-processing, pharmaceuticals, advanced manufacturing, music, film, fashion and sport, while welcoming continued collaboration between Kenyan and American business
