Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has expressed interest in playing alongside Barcelona’s teenage sensation Lamine Yamal, amid ongoing speculation over his future at Old Trafford.
The 27-year-old, who spent the latter half of last season on loan at Aston Villa, is currently training in Spain ahead of pre-season preparations.
Speaking to Spanish influencer Javi Ruiz, Rashford was asked whether he would like to link up with Yamal at Barcelona.
“Yes, for sure. Everyone wants to play with the best. Hopefully… we’ll see,” Rashford said.
Yamal, just 17, played a key role in Barcelona’s domestic double last season and was instrumental in Spain’s triumph at Euro 2024.
Rashford praised the youngster’s maturity and impact on the game at such a young age.
“It’s hard to describe what he’s doing. At 16 or 17, you’re not supposed to be doing that. We haven’t seen anything like it. It’s a skill in itself to play at that age with that kind of mentality,” he said.
Rashford’s future at United remains uncertain. Reports from April indicated he saw little chance of continuing at the club under manager Ruben Amorim, who had dropped him from the squad in December before he was loaned to Villa.
Barcelona’s sporting director Deco has previously acknowledged interest in both Rashford and Liverpool winger Luis Díaz. However, financial constraints may pose a challenge if the Catalan club decides to pursue Rashford.

Known for his performances on the left flank, Rashford also spoke about his growing comfort in a central role.
“The number nine position is becoming more natural for me. Playing with my back to goal is getting easier. You’re closer to the goal, so you’re more dangerous,” he explained.
