Raila Odinga, Kenya’s candidate for the chairmanship of the African Union Commission (AUC), has extended his New Year wishes to all Kenyans for 2025.In a statement issued on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, Raila reflected on the challenging and eventful year of 2024 for the Kenyan people.
“Happy New Year 2025! The year we’ve just left behind has been difficult and dramatic. However, it also revealed our ability to overcome profound challenges and recover as a nation,” Raila said.
“The past year demonstrated our resilience and commitment to maintaining our unity, regardless of the obstacles we faced. But, as we move into 2025, many of the difficulties of 2024 remain with us. It is now up to us, as Kenyans, to choose whether we will continue into 2026, divided and bitter, or if we will come together to discuss our issues,
find common ground, and agree on a solution that ensures our nation’s security and sets an example for the African continent. The decision is ours to make. I wish all Kenyans a prosperous and peaceful New Year 2025,” he concluded.
