President William Ruto has announced that his government has set aside Ksh 4 billion for road construction in Nyeri County.
He noted that the Mau Mau roads were only 20 percent complete when he assumed office in 2022, but progress has now reached between 60 and 70 percent, with completion expected later this year.
The President also highlighted that Ksh 21 billion has been allocated to Nyeri County for the development of affordable housing, markets, and hostels, while Ksh 1.4 billion will be used to expand electricity connectivity.
“No project will stall in Nyeri County under my watch,” he declared.
Ruto made the remarks on Saturday while addressing over 17,000 UDA grassroots leaders from Nyeri County at Sagana State Lodge.
The event was attended by Nyeri Governor Mutahi Kahiga, Embu Governor Cecily Mbarire, and Members of Parliament, led by National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wa.
