The Kenya Editors Guild (KEG) has named Linda Bach, the Quality Assurance Lead Editor at People Daily, as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective October 16.
Bach, a former editor at the Standard Group, succeeds Rosalia Omungo, who has served as KEG’s CEO for the past eight years.
In a statement to members, KEG President Zubeidah Kananu commended Omungo’s leadership, describing her tenure as outstanding and wishing her well in her future endeavors.
“Linda brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the role, and we are confident that her leadership will drive the organisation forward,” said Kananu.
As part of her new role, Bach will step down from her position as Council Member, Print, on KEG’s Executive Council. Andy Kagwa of the Standard Group has been appointed to fill that position.

In a related change, Millicent Awuor will now serve as Chairperson of the Programmes Committee, taking over from Bach.
