Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has announced the dates for upcoming branch and county delegate elections in Taita Taveta, Nyando and Kisumu as the party begins preparations for wider internal polls ahead of the 2027 General Election.

In a notice released on Tuesday, the party’s National Elections Coordinating Committee (NECC) invited eligible delegates to apply for various positions at branch and county offices.

“Eligible delegates of the branch and counties can apply for any positions at the Branch and County offices,” the notice stated.

In its statement, the ODM party said that the Taita Taveta County elections will begin on May 22, with those of Nyando Branch following on May 29, and the Kisumu County elections being held on June 5.

The voting process will be conducted from 9am to 12pm in the respective party offices in the regions affected.

The process will be coordinated by the National Elections Coordination Committee headed by the Chairperson Emily Awitta, following the guidelines provided by the party constitution and elections policy.

It is also expected that this will mark the beginning of the electoral process in the party, with the delegates tasked with helping to bolster the party’s grassroots infrastructure.

This recent announcement also follows the invitation from the ODM Party inviting any interested candidates for positions such as president, governor, senator, woman representative, MP and MCA positions to apply before the June 30 deadline.

ODM is currently experiencing political challenges within the party concerning the Linda Ground and Linda Mwananchi groups.
