President William Ruto has appointed Musalia Mudavadi as the acting Interior Cabinet Secretary.
Mudavadi will replace Kithure Kindiki set to be sworn in as deputy president on Friday, November 1.
"Pursuant to Article 152 (5) (a) of the Constitution, Hon. Wycliffe Musalia Mudavadi, E.G.H., Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, is assigned as the Acting Cabinet Secretary Ministry of Interior and National Administration," read the gazzete notice seen by TUKIO.co.ke.
The swearing-in event will be held at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) in Nairobi from 10am.
As a result, Mudavadi declared Friday a public holiday to allow the event which will be president over by Chief Justice Martha Koome or her deputy Philomena Mwilu.
